He is also the founder of #Library, a big data platform dedicated to unifying thinkers, doers and research to hyperdrive global solutions. Chris is on the steering committee for TEDxVeniceBeach, and he also sat on councils at TEDxNashville, TEDxYouth and the Music Education Policy Roundtable, a national government lobbyist group dedicated to higher education standards. Chris Purifoy advocates in global forums about the benefits and dangers of big data, the Internet of things and artificial intelligence, and their roles in solving global problems.

A 1997 undergrad alumni of Auburn University, Crouse earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005. He worked in product and business development for a decade in industry. In 2015, Crouse joined HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology and is the Director of Genomic Medicine. Crouse leads and coordinates efforts across the Genomic Medicine mission for HudsonAlpha including program management for the Smith Family Clinic and the HudsonAlpha Clinical Services Laboratory.

Kenneth J. Holroyd, MD, MBA is Vice President for Technology Transfer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Medical Director for the Vanderbilt University Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization, and Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Medicine.  Ken has served as the Vanderbilt representative on the Board of Directors for Cumberland Emerging Technologies, The Human Vaccines Project, Informatics Corporation of America, DigiChart, Acuitec, Friends in Global Health, and the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation. Before joining Vanderbilt University in 2005, Ken was COO with former NASDAQ company Genaera Pharmaceuticals. Ken received his medical training at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes of Health.

Following her career as a professional road cyclist in Europe, Sinead earned her doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. She then proceeded to start her own company, PATH EX, Inc. Passionate about healthcare and improving technologies, Biomedical Engineering was a natural fit for Sinead. Claire Pomeroy is president and CEO of the Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation which is dedicated to accelerating support for medical research. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Morehouse School of Medicine and the Board of Directors for Sierra Health Foundation; Foundation for Biomedical Research; iBiology, Inc.; New York Academy of Medicine; and Becton Dickinson. Dr. Pomeroy received her medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Minnesota. She earned an MBA from the University of Kentucky. She received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2016. Previous positions include chief of infectious diseases and associate dean for research at the University of Kentucky. She was vice chancellor and dean of the University of California, Davis School of Medicine from 2005 - 2013. She became president of the Lasker Foundation in June 2013.

Short bio prof.dr. Jan B.F. van Erp Jan van Erp is principal scientist and member of the scientific board of The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and full professor of tangible user interaction with the University of Twente. Jan obtained a master in Experimental Psychology from Leiden University and a PhD in Computer Science from Utrecht University, both in The Netherlands. He investigates human perception and cognition and human-machine collaboration in complex environments. Jan acted as program manager for many (international) R&D programs, including a 24M€ program on Brain-Computer Interfaces and participated in international expert groups for amongst others NATO and ISO. Jan published more than a hundred peer reviewed papers, serves on the editorial board of four scientific journals, is the current president of the EuroHaptics Society and a board member of the foundation ICT for Brain, Body and Behaviour.
